FCAT

Standard

Those 4 little letters stir up some strong emotions in people all over the state.  Although most of the emotions are negative, there is a positive emotion that I have with FCAT.  Once testing is completed, I have some latitude in my instruction. Allowing me the opportunity to explore ideas that although not tested help to make a student a well-rounded individual.

One of the first items we will cover is poetry as April is poetry month and poetry is such a beautiful language.  I want to expose my students not only to reading poetry but provide for them the chance to author some of their own poetry.

Being a teacher who feels she shouldn’t ask of her students what she hasn’t attempted herself…here is my attempt at a haiku.
